Rowan (they/them) is a South Philly artist focusing on poetry and painting. They can most likely be found being inspired at an open mic night. Rowan believes in using their work to drive their values of authenticity, community, and kindness.
Abigail Guidry is an artist and poet living in Philadelphia, PA, with their two tortoiseshell cats. They are co-founder of the sibling collaborative Guidry Press, where they make zines and artists’ books alongside their brother. When they aren’t reading poetry at local open mics, they can be found watching horror movies and learning new crafting techniques.
Khaleel Mason is a 40-year+ veteran of servicing the world with house music, home and abroad. He performed on the show “Welcome to Our House” for 10 years on 105.3 WDAS FM. An organizer, producer, and DJ, Khaleel serves up some of the grooviest beats in Philadelphia’s most welcoming and inclusive spaces.

CREATIVE WRITING COMMUNITY WORKSHOP SERIES
SATURDAY, MAY 30
The Any Day Now Creative Writing Workshop returns in 2026 with new partners, Philly Reincarnated, but the same welcoming space for writers of all ages.
Jovan McKoy (ThePoetBul) is a spoken-word poet and visual artist based in West Philly whose work moves with honesty, confidence, and heart. Writing since age 17, Jovan has performed across cities including New York, LA, Houston, and Atlanta. He’s the host of House of Poets Entertainment and the author of Journal Entry and Poems by the Dating Pool—both infused with his original hand-drawn artwork. His philosophy is simple and powerful: Do what you love. Love what you do. Always.
Friends of the Tanner House supports the Any Day Now Creative Writing Workshop in partnership with the Strawberry Mansion Learning Center. Welcoming writers of all ages, the workshops will convene shared space for interactive prompts, expressive activities, and supportive strategies guided by veteran Philadelphia poets, writers, and storytellers. The workshop is named in honor of North Philadelphia’s own Larry Neal, a leading voice of the Black Arts Movement who professed that the soulwork of Black writing “must be taken to the people in the most exciting fashion possible.”
